Dryer Repair

A dryer that takes three cycles to dry a load is usually telling you something — and it’s often airflow, which is also a fire risk. We repair gas and electric dryers, vented and ventless, and check the vent path as part of the job.

No heat at all

Failed heating element, thermal fuse, igniter, flame sensor or gas valve coils, depending on the model.

Is it safe to keep using a dryer that isn't heating?

Tumbling without heat won't hurt anything, but if you smell burning or the cabinet is hot, stop and call us.

Won't start or won't tumble

Broken drive belt, failed door switch, start switch, motor or thermal fuse.

Squealing, thumping or grinding

Worn drum rollers, idler pulley or drum glides.

Shuts off part way through

Overheating from restricted airflow, or a failing cycling thermostat.

Clothes come out too hot or scorched

Faulty thermostat or a shorted heating element.

Burning smell

Stop using it and call us — this is usually lint against a heat source.

Moisture sensing is off on sensor-dry cycles

Dirty or failed moisture bars, or a control board fault.

Common Questions

My washer stops mid-cycle with water in it. What's wrong?

Usually drainage — a blocked filter or pump — or a door lock that isn't confirming closed. Both are common, repairable faults.

Do you work on gas dryers?

Yes, including igniters, flame sensors and gas valve coils.

Why does my dryer shut off before the load is dry?

Usually overheating caused by restricted airflow. The dryer is protecting itself. Fix the airflow and the cycle completes normally.

Do you clean dryer vents?

Yes, and we recommend it as part of the repair when airflow is the underlying cause.
